- American University, Kogod School of Business; “Business Essentials for Physicians”–Spring 2008; Developed and served as faculty for semester-long certificate program to multi-specialty physicians on various aspects of “the business” of medicine.”
- George Washington University–Spring 2009 and Spring 2010; Developed and taught course to residents and fellows on “the business of medicine,” including practice start-up issues and evaluating practice opportunities as they begin their careers.
- Georgetown University, School of Continuing Education (Fall 1992 to June 1998); Healthcare Management Certificate Program – Developed and taught course to healthcare managers in financial accounting, managed care contracting and financial analysis. Students included physicians, high-level managers from insurance companies, hospitals, and practices. Nine-month program resulting in a Georgetown University certificate equivalent to mini-MBA program for healthcare administrators.
Special Interests/Projects
Maureen speaks extensively to groups on all types of practice management and healthcare financial management issues, and holds seminars teaching physicians and their staff practice management issues. She plans and hosts monthly office manager meetings on a variety of topics for healthcare administrators. She is editor and writer for a quarterly medical newsletter which is distributed nationally.
